Grievance Procedure

Per the New York State Office of Courts Administration, "In New York State, the conduct of attorneys is governed by the Appellate Divisions of State Supreme Court and the Grievance Committees appointed by the respective Appellate Division. The committees are made up of both attorneys and non-attorneys, working with a court appointed, state financed, full-time professional staff."

To place a formal complaint against a NYS licensed attorney that practices in Albany County or the NYS Capital Region, please contact the Third Judicial Department - Attorney Grievance Committee. As a private professional organization, the Albany County Bar Association does not handle any attorney grievances.
